The Iron Bowl Hour is a thirty minute weekly series which will premiere on Thursday, August 29th at 10:30 p.m. It will air again each Thursday through the football season. Program hosts, Will and Reed Lochamy are the creators of “Oh Brother,” a weekly radio show on Birmingham Mountain Radio. They are also avid football fans, but The Iron Bowl Hour is different from other discussions of football. Each show features former Alabama and Auburn football players, coaches, and media personalities in interviews which make light of the rivalry between the two teams.
Portions of each program are based at Vulcan Park in Birmingham where a large statue is testament to the importance of the iron industry in Alabama’s history. The annual game between Auburn and the University of Alabama took place in Birmingham’s Legion Field for many years and came to be called the Iron Bowl because Birmingham was known for its iron production.
